Food and University

Do they steal your food?
Hmmmm I know University life can be a drag most times being that most of us are not use to being on our own and preparing meals for ourselves. There are students who really cannot afford food items at times either because they waste their money on parties, food, impressing people or it could be that their parents really just don't have the money to give them all the time. With all the stress of school hunger becomes real but guess what? Some of these students are too ashamed to ask their peers for help and would rather hide and take what they want. This is never the right approach. University is a very expensive sacrifice and there are many people going through financial crisis. I mean with this economy what do you expect? So for those of you out there who steals food from your peers, please ask them kindly, it could be their last meal.

Are you able to eat a healthy meal daily?
So a lot of us going to University are still young and so many of us do not care about having a balanced or healthy meal. For some students they really don't have the time to bother with anything too fancy and so they'll whip up some rice and chicken and call it a day. Some students does not like the idea of going to the market or the supermarket to pick up vegetables and ground provisions. Well for people like me who don't mind going to the market there is always going to be a few healthy meals at least three times per week. Keeping your meal healthy and balanced can keep you more aware, less tired and keep your body healthier. Sunday's are always the time when we have more time to prepare a healthy meal. Want to know what a typical Sunday dinner for me is like well then here you go. Shared and cooked by yours truly :-)

Do you spend money on buying food most days because you're too lazy to cook?

There are students out there that are too lazy to cook and depend on people and so they spend most of their money buying food. Have you ever seen the lines of "The Spot," "Yao," "KFC," "Dukuno," "Bee Hive," "Pages Cafe," "Juici Beef," and wonder to yourself "Don't these people cook?"? Some students spend tons of money on food to impress friends especially their rich friends who can afford to buy food all the time and go places like Burger King, Wendy's, Fridays  and those expensive restaurants that are scattered in Kingston. Now how does this fit with your budget? Do you go broke soon and call your parents begging for money or do you just stay hungry and broke for the rest of the month?

Or do you depend on your flatmates and Housemates to cook for you?

In University there is always that one person that loves to cook and has been doing it for a longtime. Then there are the lazy ones that does not know how to cook nor do they care to learn. However, you also have the really lazy ones that can cook but would rather someone else do it for them. Okay so everyone depends on the one who loves to cook to do all the cooking while you sit and wait to get your belly filled. For some students they'll give you their meals to cook for them or maybe just use your kindness against you and depend on you to cook your food all the time. Students like this might probably help out with the cleaning of the kitchen and the dishes but not in the cooking of the meal. At some point it gets annoying being the one who is always cooking but for some people they don't mind.

Which one are you?
The food thief or the one who gets your food stolen?

The healthy eater?
The one who spends money on food because you're too lazy?
Or the one that depends on your flatmates and Housemates to cook for you?

Having a Roommate

So having a roommate can be awesome for some people, but for some it can be rather annoying especially when you're just getting to know this person. At times....well especially for  females personalities don't clash and sometimes it does and that's not always a good thing. Some people like having their own space especially for someone like me who likes to meditate and listen music out loud. I have my days I just want to
blast loud music and dance around in my room to keep myself in a good mood but you know those judging eyes? The best time for me to study is when it hits 12:00 am and guess what? Hmmm that's when my roommates wants to sleep and would love for the lights to be out. Now that's something I cannot work with so often times she has to suck it up and sleep with the lights on.

I hate having a nosey roommate who tries to be all up in your business. You keep getting questions like "who just call?" "Who are you skyping" "where you going", "why are you just coming in?" "where are you coming from?", "Is that your boyfriend?"  Damnnn boo why are you asking all those questions? So having a roommate can turn into real friendships but the way I look at it is in a couple months from this we're going to separate maybe live different places therefore you don't need to hear all about my personal business.
Another thing for girls especially me you know when  its your time of the month and you're all miserable and just want to be on your own locked in a room with no noise or distraction to clog your space it can be rather annoying having a roommate then mostly because you can't get the privacy you really want.

I'm sure most of us can agree with this one. We're all university students right and I can safely assume that most of us are adults. You know when your significant other comes to visit and you just want the room to yourself not necessarily to do anything but just to have some alone time with him/her and then your roommate is either rushing you or needs the room. Don't you just get super frustrated by the fact that there is nothing you can really do about it since its their room too?

So I'm not saying everything about having a roommate is bad. There are times when its good like the fact that sometimes you just want someone to hold a deep late night medz with  and you can just have that chat with your roommate. For girls you want someone to help you with your hair, picking out clothes when you have somewhere special going, helping with your make-up. There are also times when you're too sick to do anything and your roommate would just offer to help. Now there is something good to appreciate.

So having a roommate can be both good and bad.
